Leaving Launceston we travel north, heading for Sheffield, The Town of Murals. We spend a leisurely hour in Sheffield, taking a self-guided walking tour of the town. With over 80 stunning murals in the area, Sheffield boasts plenty to see and provides stunning photo opportunities of picturesque Mt Roland. Enjoy some time out for morning tea before continuing our journey to Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park.
Arriving at internationally renowned Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake, you may take one of the short walks along the edge of the Lake to Suicide Rock or the Boat Shed, with the opportunity to capture all the beauty of the Alpine region that nature has provided.
After this leisurely walk we take time out for lunch at the “Waldheim Lodge Bistro”, and then continue to Devils@Cradle conservation sanctuary where you have the opportunity to see Tasmanian Devils, Eastern and Spotted Quolls, and find out more about these unique carnivorous creatures and their plight to survive.
We start our return to Launceston, travelling via Lake Barrington, where you will have photo opportunities of the world famous Rowing Course. Soak up all the beauty of this peaceful location of pristine forest before travelling on to Railton, the town of Topiary, our final stop before returning to Launceston.
